Job Responsibility

  • Develop and maintain relationship with (potential) customers
  • Generate purchase orders to meet or exceed annual goal
  • Maintain & submit appropriate records for forecasting, quote status & expenses
  • Assist Applications Engineers as needed in developing solutions to the customer’s needs
  • Continually contact prospective customers based on leads from business directories or other sources
  • Support all aspects of sales and marketing for geographic territory and/or vertical through the following methods: market research in geographic area, Industry trends, geographic market understanding, competitive landscape, niche opportunity identification, support lead generation activities, value proposition development and communication, support marketing efforts through trade show participation and developing marketing collateral
  • Support aftermarket sales
  • Align product offerings with market needs
  • Identify unique IP opportunities
  • Goal setting and alignment of activity to support goals
  • Maintain & submit appropriate records for forecasting, quote status & expenses

Requirements

  • A minimum of ten years in custom automation with recent, relevant experience dedicated to the Life Science vertical (e.g., Med Tech, Med Device, Pharma, etc.)
  • Five to ten years of account management or new business development experience
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management, or equivalent experience, calculated as two (2) years of relevant work experience for each year of academic study
  • or equivalent work experience
  • Well-versed in CRM software (Salesforce preferred)
  • Current or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry is strongly preferred
  • Possess a winning and creative approach to work when identifying customer solutions
  • History of maintaining and submitting appropriate records for forecasting quote status and expenses
  • Proven ability to continually contact prospective customers based on leads from business directories or other sources
  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time (primarily day travel). Remainder of time is home based

Nice to have

  • Current or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry is strongly preferred
  • Well-versed in CRM software (Salesforce preferred)
