The Strategic Account Executive will be responsible for keeping updated with industry trends and client needs, identifying, developing, and implementing key sales strategies to grow the organisation’s new and existing client base. As a Strategic Account Executive, you play a critical role in positioning the organization as a marketing solution provider, selling major profitable proposals, and ensuring the retention of assigned key customers.
Job Responsibility:
Consistently achieve and exceed set sales targets
Identify, target, and acquire new clients across key industries while maintaining long-term partnerships
Achieve revenue growth through upselling and cross-selling clients into new products and ad formats
Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospects using research, networking, and outbound initiatives
Serve as the primary contact for assigned accounts, providing regular check-ins, campaign reviews, performance reports, and optimisation recommendations
Develop and pitch integrated marketing solutions across digital, social, e-paper, video, branded content, sponsorships, and events
Analyse client needs and market trends to recommend data-driven strategies
Leverage audience insights, analytics, and digital metrics (CTR, CPM, CPC, engagement, conversions) to inform proposals and demonstrate value
Coordinate with editorial, content, creative, and ad traffic teams to ensure smooth campaign execution
Prepare campaign briefs for branded content and oversee campaign delivery to guarantee client satisfaction
Maintain high client retention rates through proactive relationship management
Upsell and cross-sell existing clients into new company offerings, including branded content, programmatic campaigns, sponsorships, and custom projects
Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor offerings, and client category developments to inform sales strategy
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client functions as a brand ambassador
Provide feedback to leadership on client needs, new product opportunities, and emerging revenue streams
Perform any other duties as assigned contributing to the streamlined operation of the department
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications, or related degree, or equivalent years of work-related experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in using Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets, etc.) and experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy and quality in all aspects of work
Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
Adaptability and flexibility to navigate changes in the industry and respond to client needs promptly
Knowledge of the media and advertising industry, including current trends, competitor offerings, and best practices
Commitment to continuous learning and staying informed about industry developments and emerging technologies
A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for attending client meetings and events, as needed
