Job Description:

We work with prospective customers to help them navigate and evaluate our solutions so that any business can become a fintech. We believe that the way people interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. We’re dedicated to empowering this transformation by building the tools and experiences that thousands of developers use to create their own products. Plaid helps power leading Fintech apps including Cash App, Chime, Dave, Robinhood, Venmo, and thousands more, enabling millions of people to access financial services and improve their overall financial health. Founded in 2013, we're headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Washington D.C., London, and Amsterdam. The Fintech team at Plaid combines deep product and industry knowledge and is focused on helping both upcoming and well-established Fintechs take their growth to the next level. Our thesis is that every company in Fintech can benefit from leveraging a bespoke Plaid solution, focused on helping them achieve their unique goals and objectives. In this role, you'll be the individual helping us achieve this vision.

Job Responsibility:

  • Build close customer relationships and identify business value and impact of Plaid across your territory of accounts
  • Go deep and wide in customer and prospect accounts to build support for adopting Plaid solutions
  • Win as a team — in partnership with your outbound sales development rep, account manager, technical account manager, implementation manager, product organization, and other members of your account pod
  • Deeply understand each customer’s goals and priorities, and effectively communicate how Plaid’s solutions can help them achieve the desired outcome
  • Leave no stone unturned - you're a self-starter and take the initiative to get things done before being asked. You think two steps ahead, anticipate potential risks, and take action to proactively mitigate those risks
  • Identify opportunities for Plaid solutions to deliver value, with both existing and prospective high-growth Fintech customers
  • Develop a book of high-potential engaged prospects and maintain a sufficient pipeline to support successful attainment against quota
  • Own the end-to-end sales cycle and coordinate efforts from sales engineers, product specialists, and other team members throughout the sales process
  • Coordinate cross-functional resources and drive initiatives across Plaid to support a consultative sales motion
  • Manage pipeline and accurately forecast deal value and win probability
  • Develop a deep understanding of Plaid solutions and apply this knowledge by identifying how each customer can leverage our technology to achieve their unique goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 7+ years in a quota-carrying direct sales role, with a strong track record of attainment
  • Excellent prospecting, qualifying, and negotiating skills
  • consultative sales approach with a customer-centric mindset
  • Working knowledge of APIs and a desire to understand how Plaid works 'under hood'
  • Professional yet relaxed communication style, with the ability to break-down complex concepts and explain them in simple terms to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
