VAST Data is looking for an Account Executive, Federal (DoD) to join our growing team! We are seeking an experienced sales executive focused on Federal DoD accounts with a minimum of 10 years sales experience, particularly within the data analytics industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sales of VAST Data's groundbreaking data platform product. This role requires exceptional evangelism skills, deep understanding of the database industry landscape, and a proven track record of exceeding sales targets.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and expand VAST Data's customer base
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, and relationship building
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders within target accounts
Conduct in-depth product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the value proposition of VAST Data's innovative data platform
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, product management, and customer success to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies and alignment with company objectives
Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to effectively position VAST Data's solutions in the market
Negotiate contracts and close deals while adhering to company policies and procedures
Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and activity reports to management
Serve as a brand ambassador for VAST Data, representing the company with professionalism and integrity at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings
Continuously strive for personal and professional growth through ongoing learning and development initiatives
Requirements:
Consistent track record of exceeding quota and driving referenceable business with large enterprise customers
A history of developing selling regions from the ground up, with little resources
Passion for developing account expansion strategies and the value of post-sales customer success
Excellent time management and communication skills
Desire to drive change and evangelize new technologies in a way that resonates with customers
Minimum of 7 years Direct Enterprise selling experience
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment experience is key, a mix of large company and startup experience
The ability to speak with customers and partners at both a business-level and technical-level
Knowledge of the storage industry specifically: NFS, Object Storage and Enterprise Computing architectures
Competitive attitude and strong work ethic with the ability to enthusiastically represent the company
Proficient with Salesforce.com and Microsoft Office
