Account Director – Healthcare Department. Are you a insurance expert seeking to advance your career? Managing a portfolio of healthcare and medical clients, the Account Director handles key accounts and large nursing home insurance programs. The position reports directly to the Managing Director, National & Specialty (Commercial Risk Solutions). It focuses on identifying client risk needs and delivering personalized solutions across Aon’s capabilities. This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility to work virtually and from the Dublin office.
Job Responsibility:
Handle a portfolio of healthcare and medical clients with major revenue duties
Act as senior client contact, building trusted, long‑term relationships
Own delivery of services and service level agreements
Lead renewals, placements, and negotiations with insurers
Place large healthcare programmes using outstanding wordings
Handle intricate claims, including significant healthcare and medical malpractice losses
Attend and lead client, carrier, and market meetings
Contribute to the growth of Aon Healthcare Solutions through innovation
Develop a strong understanding of client businesses and risk profiles
Build tailored insurance and risk solutions, including broader commercial programmes
Leverage Aon’s analytics, specialty, and advisory capabilities
Provide clear, practical mentorship on risk transfer and management options
Identify cross‑sell and upsell opportunities within existing clients
Support new business activity, tenders, and pitches
Maintain strong market awareness across healthcare and trade credit
Working closely with internal teams, delivering a seamless client experience
Provide mentorship and support to colleagues servicing the portfolio
Manage people including coaching, mentoring, and performance reviews

Requirements:
Demonstrated experience in a senior, client-facing position within insurance, risk management, or financial services
Strong portfolio management and renewal negotiation experience
Ability to assess complex risk profiles and structure appropriate solutions
Strong commercial competence, including revenue growth and retention
Excellent relationship-building and collaborator management skills
Compliance with Central Bank Fitness & Probity requirements
At least 5 years’ recent senior leadership experience in a commercial setting
Progress towards ACII qualification (minimum MDI achieved)
Confident communicator and influencer, able to adapt messages for varied internal and external audiences
Proven ability to collaborate, lead, and negotiate across collaborators
