Account Director – Total Facilities Management (TFM) Luton  We’re looking for a senior Account Director to take ownership of a high-profile Facilities Management contract in Luton, overseeing a multi-service environment that includes cleaning, security, catering and technical services. This is a key leadership role, acting as the principal FM lead for the client. You’ll shape the overall direction of the account, build a strong and trusted partnership at senior level, and ensure every element of service delivery reflects high standards, consistency and long-term value. You’ll be someone who thrives in a visible position, confident and engaging at executive level while still driving performance through your teams on the ground. As Account Director, you will provide overarching direction and leadership across the account, ensuring the contract delivers against both commercial objectives and client expectations. You will represent Facilities Management at senior level, balancing relationship ownership with operational oversight.

Job Responsibility

  • Set the strategic direction of the account, ensuring alignment between service delivery, commercial performance and client priorities
  • Act as the senior FM representative, building strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders and acting as a trusted advisor
  • Oversee delivery across all service lines, ensuring consistency, integration and high standards across hard and soft FM
  • Drive performance across KPIs, embedding a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and service excellence
  • Provide leadership to operational teams, supporting and challenging to achieve high performance
  • Maintain oversight of compliance, ensuring all statutory, contractual and HSE requirements are met
  • Take full ownership of financial performance, including P&L, forecasting and cost management
  • Lead governance and reporting, ensuring clear visibility of performance, risks and opportunities
  • Identify and shape opportunities for innovation, service development and added value

Requirements

  • Experience operating at senior account leadership level within Facilities Management
  • Proven experience managing a cleaning and security contract within a facilities management environment
  • Experience of working on TFM contracts, with exposure to catering and hard services highly desirable
  • Strong presence and credibility in senior client-facing environments
  • A strategic thinker who can balance relationship management with operational performance
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams through clear direction and influence
  • Commercially driven, with experience managing financial performance and driving efficiencies
  • Solid understanding of compliance, governance and health & safety within FM
  • Passionate about service delivery, with a focus on quality, experience and continuous improvement
  • Relevant qualifications such as IOSH, NEBOSH or IWFM are advantageous
