Job Description

The Accessioning Technician Lead works under little or no supervision and demonstrates proficiency in all Core Responsibilities of an Accessioning Technician. This is the advanced level for the Accessioning job category responsible for assisting the department supervisor/manager, participating in training Accessioning Specialists, and coordinating and reviewing the work of assigned staff in addition to performing the full range of specimen processing procedures. The Accessioning Technician Lead typically leads 5+ employees; may lead fewer than 5 employees depending on the size of the department and/or site.

  • Expedites the flow of work to maximize capacity by evaluating systems and recommending enhancements and coordinating the resolution of production problems/issues involving other departments
  • Communicates with Logistics and Supervisors about FedEx and courier issues/changes
  • Reviews department activities to ensure compliance with departmental polices and federal, state and local regulations
  • Assists with the department’s annual competency testing process and documentation

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Three (3) or more years of experience equivalent to an Accessioning Technician preferred
  • Proficient with MS Office programs
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment and maintain production and quality standards
  • Must be able to work in a biohazard environment and comply with safety policies and standards outlined in the Safety Manual
