Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Access Control Technician to join our team in Greater Cleveland, Ohio. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting video, security, and access control systems for various customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of technical drawings, local regulations, and customer service.

Job Responsibility:

  • Travel to client sites to install and configure access control and security systems, including equipment from brands like Verkada, Hanwha, and Honeywell
  • Perform routine inspections, troubleshoot issues, and repair components such as electric strikes, mag locks, card readers, sensors, and control boards
  • Review and interpret technical documents, including blueprints and schematics, to ensure precise equipment installation
  • Ensure compliance with local codes and regulations related to access control and fire systems
  • Collaborate with customers to assess their security needs and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Maintain detailed records of installations, repairs, and service activities in accordance with company standards
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients during system installations and maintenance
  • Test and verify system functionality to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction
  • Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards while working on-site

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in access control, security systems, or related field
  • Proficiency in network cabling, low voltage cabling, and fiber-optic installations
  • Strong knowledge of cable installation techniques and tools
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Familiarity with local codes and regulations relevant to security and fire systems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to customer sites
