Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Access Control Technician to join our team in Charlotte, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting access control and video surveillance systems for a variety of commercial and industrial settings. This is a contract position with the potential for long-term employment after an initial contract period.

Job Responsibility

  • Install and configure access control systems, including controllers, readers, locks, and door hardware
  • Set up and maintain video surveillance systems, such as IP cameras, NVRs/DVRs, and related software
  • Perform cabling tasks, including pulling, terminating, labeling, and testing low voltage cables like Cat5e/Cat6
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues
  • Conduct system commissioning, inspections, and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance
  • Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and wiring schematics
  • Document system installations, configurations, and service activities for project records
  • Provide end-user training and ensure smooth handoff of systems to customers
  • Adhere to safety protocols and industry best practices during all installations and service tasks
  • Collaborate with customers, project managers, and internal teams to ensure project success

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in installing or maintaining access control or video surveillance systems
  • Proficiency in IP networking, including knowledge of PoE and basic VLAN configurations
  • Experience working with commercial electronic security systems
  • Ability to use hand and power tools, ladders, and test equipment effectively
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • All candidates are required to undergo pre-employment screening as part of the selection process
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders or in confined spaces when required
