Job Description:

Academic Support Assistant position based in a brilliant Secondary School in Barnet. Within this role, you will be working alongside knowledgeable Subject Teachers to aid in the student’s academic progress. You will work alongside subject Teachers to discuss and review student progress, creating structured learning resources. You will be working 1:1 and in small groups with students to assist them in their areas of academic weakness, at times tailoring the way you deliver the sessions to suit the needs of SEN students (ASD, ADHD, SP&L etc).

Job Responsibility:

Working with students across KS3, KS4 & KS5
Providing regular feedback to Teachers following interventions
Actively supporting students within 1:1 and small group support sessions
Leading structured academic interventions in core subjects (Maths, English & Science)

Requirements:

Hold a 1st Class or 2:1 Degree from a reputable University
Strong A Levels & GCSEs
Confident in your knowledge of core subjects (Maths, English & Science)
Have a passion for the curriculum and supporting young people
Previous experience working with young people (Tutoring, Mentoring etc)
Be able to work collaboratively in a wider team
