Job Description

The Academic Program Manager oversees all aspects of the academic programs of the Data Science Institute and its two research institutes, managing a complex network of interdisciplinary partnerships. In addition to its residential and on-line Data Science master’s program, DSI houses ScB and AB in Computational Biology undergraduates, PhD students in Computational Biology, and faculty where the fields of Computer Science, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Applied Mathematics, Biostatistics, Biomedical Informatics, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology and Biochemistry, Public Health, and humanities intersect.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversees all aspects of the academic programs of the Data Science Institute and its two research institutes, managing a complex network of interdisciplinary partnerships
  • Administers all PhD, graduate, masters and undergraduate programs offered through DSI, from recruiting, admissions and advising to commencement and alumni relations
  • Coordinates with departmental graduate programs across campus to manage student fellowships and awards
  • Maintains student records and ensures compliance with university academic procedures and policies
  • Provides a student-centered approach to the academic community of the Data Science Institute

Requirements

  • BA or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3-5 years of experience related to program coordination, ideally in higher education

  • 10+ years of experience owning and managing multi-year, highly complex hardware and firmware product portfolios involving deep-tech or first-of-a-kind technologies, including board bring-up, System-on-Chip (SoC) bring-up, BIOS and driver development, Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs), Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), quantum systems, advanced chip packaging, cryoelectronics, or other high-reliability hardware.
  • Experience managing firmware and hardware product development across the full lifecycle, including R&D, system integration, hardware-software integration, new-technology introduction, and technology transfer from R&D into scaled engineering and manufacturing, including hardware quality systems and development or auditing of test and validation protocols.
