Job Description:

The Abstractor VII supervises a group of abstractors engaged in land title examinations and in preparing abstracts of land title information to determine ownership of land; assigns land title examinations and reviews completed work for accuracy and completeness; participates in searching legal documents; supervises a staff engaged in writing Certificates of Title and preparing title reports; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Responsibility:

  • Participates in searching legal documents
  • Supervises a staff engaged in writing Certificates of Title and preparing title reports
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States (citizen, national, permanent resident alien, or eligible under federal law)
  • MUST possess knowledge of and the ability to speak, write and read the HAWAIIAN LANGUAGE in addition to English
  • Two (2) years of general experience involving preparing, reviewing, or extracting information from legal documents/records dealing with real property ownership or transactions
  • Three (3) years of specialized experience in examining and analyzing real property ownership records and documents to determine title to real property
  • Applicants must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Supervisory aptitude or experience
