Aboriginal Community Liaison Officer

• Establish trusted relationships across priority regional communities in WA
• Advise leadership on Aboriginal matters and culturally appropriate food access
• Support food sourcing, outreach and advocacy initiatives aligned to community needs
• Deliver cultural awareness training and guidance to staff and volunteers
• Monitor engagement outcomes and recommend improvements to service delivery
• Conduct regional visits
• Facilitate listening sessions
• Represent our client at events and forums
• Support grant activity
• Work with sourcing and education teams to align supply with community need
• Help turn feedback into practical action
• Help ensure services are culturally safe, useful and sustainable

• Identification as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (This is a Section 50D position under the Equal Opportunity Action 1984 WA)
• Experience engaging with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities, Elders, ACCOs and regional stakeholders across WA
• Experience in community engagement, advocacy, outreach, stakeholder development, program delivery or related service work
• Knowledge of cultural protocols
• Strong written, verbal and cross-cultural communication skills
• Ability to work independently and with internal teams in a newly created role
• A current WA Driver’s Licence and valid Australian working rights
• Ability to obtain a Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance
• Willingness to complete a medical, drug and alcohol screening for employment

Experience working in similar roles which include building trusted regional relationships, implementing engagement plans, improving participation outcomes, delivering cultural capability sessions and reporting on community impact
