Job Description:

Austin Health is proud to offer a dedicated Aboriginal Nursing Cadetship Program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nursing students. As a cadet, you’ll be employed in the role of a Registered Undergraduate Student of Nursing (RUSON), gaining paid clinical experience while completing your studies. This role provides a unique opportunity to develop your clinical skills, build confidence, and contribute to patient care in a supportive and culturally safe environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Gaining paid clinical experience while completing your studies
  • Develop clinical skills, build confidence, and contribute to patient care in a supportive and culturally safe environment
  • Working alongside experienced nurses in a variety of clinical settings
  • Actively involved in ward-based care

Requirements:

  • Currently in possession of a Working With Children Check
  • Ability to work both AM and PM shifts (around clinical placement)
  • Must be enrolled in a Bachelor of Nursing and completed your first year of study
  • Identify as a First Nations person
