A/V Support Technician

Job Responsibility

  • Provide both on-site and remote technical assistance for commercial audiovisual systems at customer locations
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair installed AV equipment to support reliable day-to-day operation
  • Identify root causes of system problems involving control platforms, DSP components, conferencing tools, and other integrated technologies, then implement effective solutions
  • Communicate directly with end users and client contacts to address issues clearly, professionally, and with a strong customer-service mindset
  • Complete service documentation that captures work performed, technical findings, and recommended next steps
  • Support customers covered by ongoing service agreements and recurring maintenance programs
  • Follow established field safety practices and take part in regular safety discussions and compliance activities
  • Assist with troubleshooting related AV infrastructure components, including cabling and conferencing systems, as needed

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in commercial AV service, support, installation, or field engineering roles
  • Demonstrated experience working with platforms and technologies such as Crestron, Extron, Biamp, and Q-SYS
  • Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to resolve technical issues across integrated audiovisual environments
  • Comfortable working directly with customers and explaining technical information in a clear, detail-oriented manner
  • Hands-on familiarity with audiovisual systems, audio conferencing solutions, and cable assemblies
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required

Nice to have

Industry certifications related to AV technologies are preferred, including credentials from organizations or manufacturers such as Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, or Biamp
