Job Responsibility

Operational status of the ship, its machinery, propulsion systems and technical equipment permanently installed on board
Safety of personnel within sphere of influence
Maintenance of the vessel, machinery installed on board in a sound condition ready for operations
Reporting any defects to the plant and machinery installed on board to the Chief Engineer
Recognising stores requirements, spares and equipment for the Engine Department
Execution of actions to fulfil the approved company Planned Maintenance System on board
Monitoring safe working practices of shore contractors during periods of maintenance
Examining and accepting stores and spares delivered to the vessel
Assisting in the fuelling procedure to ensure all precautions are being adhered to
Actively promoting and progressing the company Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Policy
