A growing manufacturing operation in Omaha is seeking an experienced 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician to support equipment reliability, facility maintenance, and production uptime. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills who enjoys solving equipment issues in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Job Responsibility
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment, facility systems, and industrial machinery
Perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs
Diagnose equipment issues involving CNC machinery, PLCs, VFDs, control systems, and automated production equipment
Support preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities
Work with electrical systems, including low-voltage controls, single-phase, and three-phase AC/DC systems up to 480 volts
Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics
Use hand tools, power tools, meters, gauges, diagnostic equipment, and precision measuring tools
Repair or fabricate parts using equipment such as grinders, drill presses, lathes, milling machines, welding equipment, and cutting tools
Complete work orders, document repairs, track parts used, and update maintenance records through a CMMS or similar system
Assist with facility maintenance, including lighting, compressed air systems, plumbing, power distribution, basic structural repairs, and general upkeep
Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, PPE requirements, hot work procedures, and equipment guarding standards
Coordinate with outside contractors as needed to support maintenance or repair projects
Support housekeeping, 5S, quality, environmental, and safety initiatives
Assist with equipment training and safe operating procedures after repairs are completed
Travel between nearby company locations as needed for projects, training, or maintenance support
Work overtime, weekends, holidays, or adjusted schedules as business needs require
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or a related technical field preferred
Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on training
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience required
Experience with HVAC, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, controls, CNC machinery, PLCs, and VFDs strongly preferred
Robotics, automation, and light programming experience highly preferred
Ability to safely operate or become certified on forklifts, overhead cranes, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and related material handling equipment
EPA 608 certification preferred, or ability to obtain certification for HVAC/refrigerant-related work
Basic computer skills and experience documenting maintenance activity required
Strong attention to detail, sense of urgency, and commitment to safety
