Job Description:

As a 2nd Line Engineer, you will review customer Windows related requests, deliver quick and accurate responses, and use automation to build images, documentation, and work instructions. You will build and configure Windows servers, mainly virtual on VMware, as well as support the racking of physical servers in customer data centres. The role includes maintaining gold images, performing patching and upgrades, producing capacity reports, and attending engineering meetings to provide updates. All work must align with Fujitsu and customer standards, with occasional on‑site visits required to meet SLA and KPI targets. Working through assigned service desk tickets, you will investigate and resolve system and customer issues within agreed SLAs while following policies such as Change & Release, Configuration, and Security. You will ensure the security of network services in line with Security Operating Orders, raise risks that may impact cost or delivery timelines, and support testing activities. The role may also involve contributing to wider projects, and previous experience in a similar environment is beneficial.

Windows Server 2016, 2019 and 2022
AD (Active Directory), DNS, WSUS
VMware
Backups (NetApp SAN and Cohesity)
Microsoft System Centre Operations
Scripting
pass significant security clearance checks
