Job Description:

Claims is the heart beat of the company – where the promise is delivered. We strive to pay the right claim, for the right amount at the right time. Today, we are consistency looking to optimize our processes to provide the best quality to our policyholders. Most recently, we kicked off the SPARK Program – a program designed to take qualitative data from all audit results from across the company and turn that into behavioral coaching opportunities. We are taking these results and partnering with IKS to develop an in-person training for all claims specialist to understand how we can improve quality for the department. The next phase includes getting more granular with the data, to include shadowing our specialist to understand why we are making these errors. This phase will allow us to revamp our audit methodologies and take training closer to reinforcing behaviors vs. just awareness.

Job Responsibility:

  • Performs assigned duties under the direction of experienced personnel to gain knowledge and experience in preparation for full time professional opportunities within Individual Claims
  • Observes experienced personnel to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures, and standards required for performance of departmental duties
  • Participates in roundtable feedback discussions to interact with other participants and to offer program improvement ideas
  • Performs other duties as required

Requirements:

  • Current undergraduate student (junior or senior) or graduate student in business or related field
  • Strong interest in learning about Insurance claims
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and proficient in excel

Nice to have:

Medical terminology a plus but not required
