Job Description:

Subsea7 is a global leader in the delivery of offshore projects and services for the energy industry. The 1st Engineer is responsible to the Chief Engineer for operations and maintenance of the engine rooms and propulsion equipment on board and may act as the Chief Engineer's deputy in the running of the Technical Department.

Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible to the Chief Engineer for operations and maintenance of the engine rooms and propulsion equipment on board
  • May act as the Chief Engineer's deputy in the running of the Technical Department
  • Support effective delivery of offshore projects
  • Build effective and trusting two-way relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Completed Certificate of Competency Section A-III/2 of the STCW Code
  • Recognized Seamans Book
  • Conversant in vessel Safety Management Systems
  • Security Awareness training relevant for the position
  • Jack up vessel experience

  • Conduct routine performance evaluations of the Operating Engineers as per their duties in relation to the equipment defined by the Technical Safety and Standards Act to provide positive and constructive feedback. Responsible for managing development requirements and opportunities, in relation with the above performance evaluations.
  • Communicates regularly with all Operating Engineers regarding operating requirements, operating and procedural changes etc.
  • Authority to hire, dismiss, promote or demote any employees with duties as Stationary Engineer under the Chief Operating Engineer’s control or supervision.
  • Visually inspects TSSA regulated equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions, need for repair, adjustment or lubrication and coordinated the required work.
  • Authorize, approve and be responsible for all the maintenance, repairs or work performed with the above-mentioned equipment or in connection with that equipment.
  • Responsible for the efficient operation of the river water treatment and process water systems.
