Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional learning needs in schools across Chichester. This rewarding role involves providing individualised support to help students access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential both academically and socially.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil throughout the school day
  • Assist with the delivery of learning activities in line with the teacher’s guidance
  • Support the pupil’s academic, emotional, social, and behavioural development
  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and other professionals to support pupil progress
  • Monitor and record pupil achievements and areas for development
  • Encourage independence and build positive relationships with students

Requirements

  • Patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting young people
  • Passionate about education and helping children succeed
  • Able to build strong, professional relationships with pupils and staff
  • Reliable, adaptable, and proactive in their approach
  • Experienced in education, care, support work, or working with children (desirable but not essential)
  • Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or are willing to undertake training (desirable)
  • All applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references in line with safeguarding requirements
