Job Description

Dedicated Primary 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant Role. Are you a nurturing and patient individual driven by a passion to support children with diverse learning needs? Randstad Education is seeking a Full-Time, Term-Time Only Primary Teaching Assistant to provide crucial 1:1 Special Educational Needs (SEN) support in schools across Crawley. This highly rewarding role focuses on helping individual pupils overcome academic, social, and emotional barriers. You will be essential in supporting children who present with various additional needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties, and Behavioural Challenges. You will collaborate closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement tailored strategies and track student progress.

Job Responsibility

  • Providing crucial 1:1 Special Educational Needs (SEN) support in schools
  • Helping individual pupils overcome academic, social, and emotional barriers
  • Supporting children with additional needs including Autism (ASD), ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties, and Behavioural Challenges
  • Collaborating closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement tailored strategies and track student progress

Requirements

  • Experience working with children (education or care setting)
  • A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to challenging situations
  • Confidence in supporting pupils with SEN or behavioural needs
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Essential Requirements: GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above) and eligibility to work in the UK
  • Relevant SEN experience is highly desirable
