Job Description:

Are you a patient, compassionate, and dedicated individual passionate about providing personalised support to pupils? GSL Education are seeking a committed 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school community in Bovington with an immediate start. As a 1:1 TA, you will work closely with a designated pupil to provide tailored academic, emotional, and behavioural support throughout the school day. You will play a vital role in helping the pupil engage with learning, build confidence, and achieve their individual developmental goals. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in SEN, care, or support work who are eager to make a meaningful impact.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with additional learning or behavioural needs
  • Support the pupil’s engagement in classroom activities and learning tasks
  • Assist in implementing EHCP targets, behaviour plans, and learning strategies
  • Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to monitor progress
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and independence
  • Ensure the pupil’s safety, wellbeing, and inclusion at all times
  • Follow all safeguarding, behaviour management, and school policies

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN or behavioural needs is an advantage
  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to support
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexible, proactive, and committed attitude
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection
