Job Description

We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a primary-aged pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEND) in one of our partner schools. This is a full-time, long-term position, ideal for someone with a passion for inclusive education and a nurturing approach to behaviour support.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with identified SEND (e.g. autism, ADHD, SEMH)
  • Help deliver personalised learning and behaviour strategies
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO
  • Record progress and support outcomes in line with the pupil's EHCP
  • Encourage confidence, engagement, and independence

Requirements

  • Experience supporting children with SEND
  • Calm, patient, and positive attitude
  • Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)

Nice to have

  • Team Teach or similar de-escalation training
  • Experience with autism strategies, PECS, Makaton, or sensory tools
