Job Description:

Justteachers is looking for a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Wigan to provide tailored support for a Year 2 pupil with additional needs, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a child’s educational journey. This full-time, long-term position is available to start in February 2026.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide 1:1 support to meet the needs of students with various learning difficulties, including cognition and learning, social emotional and mental health, sensory and physical challenges, ASC, ADHD, and other complex needs
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers and fellow staff members to ensure the best possible learning environment
  • Build strong relationships with students, understanding their individual needs and motivations
  • Support the ethos of the school and contribute to its inclusive and supportive atmosphere

Requirements:

  • Experience working with adults or children with complex or SEN needs within the last two years
  • Dedication to the development and learning of students with SEMH
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to establish rapport with students and demonstrate empathy towards their challenges and behaviours
