Are you a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are looking for a dedicated 1:1 SEND TA to work on a supply basis, offering personalised support to pupils in inclusive, supportive school environments. Whether you're seeking flexible day-to-day work or short-term placements, this role gives you the opportunity to make a lasting difference in a child’s education and wellbeing.
Job Responsibility:
Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEND, ensuring their individual needs are met
Implement learning strategies and behaviour plans tailored to the pupil
Foster a positive, safe, and encouraging environment for learning
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support progress and wellbeing
Adapt resources and instructions to make learning accessible
Promote social and emotional development alongside academic support
Maintain clear records of progress, behaviour, and incidents where needed
Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and professional conduct
Requirements:
Experience working 1:1 with children with SEND (e.g. autism, ADHD, speech & language needs, SEMH)
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Good communication and teamwork skills
Knowledge of EHCPs and inclusive strategies (desirable)
A valid DBS (or willingness to obtain one) and eligibility to work in the UK
Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach, Autism Awareness) are a bonus
