Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive educational team in Crawley. This rewarding role involves providing tailored support to an individual pupil, helping them access learning opportunities, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential both academically and socially. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, parents/carers, and external professionals to ensure the pupil receives consistent, high-quality support throughout their educational journey.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide one-to-one support for a pupil with identified learning, social, emotional, or behavioural needs
  • Assist the pupil in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in classroom activities
  • Implement strategies and interventions as directed by teaching staff and specialist professionals
  • Support the development of the pupil’s independence, confidence, communication, and social skills
  • Monitor progress and maintain accurate records of achievements, challenges, and support provided
  • Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, parents/carers, and external agencies
  • Promote safeguarding and uphold the welfare of all children and young people

Requirements

  • Has experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational setting
  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting learners
  • Has a good understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is able to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families
  • Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Holds relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or learning support (desirable but not essential)
  • Provide details for us to complete reference checks before employment
  • Provide an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one (which Pink Tile can assist with)
  • eligible to work in the UK or hold a relevant work visa
