We are currently recruiting for a caring and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming SEN school in Stretford from September 2026. This role will involve supporting a primary-aged pupil on a one-to-one basis within a specialist classroom environment. The school supports children with a range of additional needs including Autism, communication difficulties and complex learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about making a positive impact on a child's educational journey.
Job Responsibility
Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with additional learning needs
Support the class teacher with differentiated learning activities
Encourage engagement, independence and social development
Implement behaviour and communication strategies consistently
Support pupils with emotional regulation and sensory needs
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and parents
Maintain accurate records of student progress and wellbeing
Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times
Requirements
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN
Understanding of Autism, ADHD or additional learning needs
Patient, resilient and nurturing approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Relevant TA qualification is desirable but not essential
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
