At ArcelorMittal Gent, a world player in the steel industry, you as a finishing operator are at the basis of finishing the shiny steel that finds its way to the automotive industry, the construction sector and household appliances worldwide. Join a team of motivated operators to strengthen our finishing departments. Here, hot-rolled steel gets its final top quality, and you play a key role in that!

Functieverantwoordelijkheden:

  • Operating and controlling installations from a modern control room or at the line itself via screens, operating transport chains, automatic welding and binding machines
  • Ensuring quality by checking steel rolls for irregularities such as scratches or chips, checking dimensions and the quality of the edge cut, blocking rolls for further inspection in case of deviations
  • Logistics and material handling, ensuring smooth inflow and outflow of the gigantic steel rolls, which may involve driving an overhead crane or forklift to position rolls or manage storage zones
  • Actively participating in the process by removing binding straps, feeding rolls into the machine, or using a cutting torch to remove an irregularity, loading zinc blocks or taking steel samples

Vereisten:

  • Interest in technology and/or experience with technical processes
  • Ability to work well in a team and take independent responsibility for own tasks
  • Inquisitive attitude and openness to learning new skills
  • Accurate and detail-oriented
  • Flexible attitude and sees the benefits of working in a continuous shift system (shifts of 6-14 hours, 14-22 hours and 22-06 hours)

  • Je zorgt voor de perfecte finish door het ontbramen van vliesjes met uiterste precisie
  • Je beheert de aanvoer van grondstoffen en de afvoer van de hoogwaardige eindproducten
