Junior Operations Officer

• Synchronizing and monitoring operations on various terminals with focus on ship, train and terminal operations (planning)
• Reporting on execution and actively seeking solutions to improve organizational efficiency
• Ensuring flawless rollout of operations with emphasis on safety during loading/unloading
• Monitoring safety and product quality instructions on ship, reporting accidents and damage cases within set deadlines
• Acting as ambassador and coach to ensure efficient collaboration within teams
• Ensuring clear flow of relevant information to internal and external parties
• Coordinating between multiple factors and actors for good monitoring of operations
• Correctly assessing and handling daily operational problems, adapting to changing circumstances
• Assisting Foreman and Overlookers with needed information and informing dispatch of deviations
• Creating correct and complete performance and quality reports, signaling serious and/or structural problems
• Preparing ship operations (take 5, planning, shifting, yardplan, routes) and ensuring good communication with agencies/planning/crew
• Working in all weather, in work clothes, in all possible shifts including weekends and holidays on board the ship

• Young graduate with Master or Bachelor diploma in nautical, logistics or technical field
• Excellent knowledge of Dutch and English, notions of French
• Knowledge of Office packages with emphasis on Excel
• Spatial and numerical insight
• Strong communication skills, task-oriented leadership, planning and organizing
• Problem-solving, decisive and stress-resistant
• Quality and customer-oriented, collaborative, flexible, adaptable, integrity, intensity and innovation
• Willing to work in rotating shift system including weekends and holidays
• Able to relocate easily to Zeebrugge

First experience is a plus
