Discover rewarding and impactful Regional Director of Resident Care jobs, a senior leadership role at the heart of quality senior living and long-term care. This high-level clinical and operational position is designed for experienced nursing professionals who transition from direct community management to multi-site oversight. As a Regional Director of Resident Care, you serve as the primary clinical authority and compliance champion across a portfolio of assisted living, memory care, or skilled nursing communities. Your core mission is to ensure uniform excellence in resident care, steadfast adherence to complex state and federal regulations, and the continuous improvement of clinical services throughout your region. Professionals in these jobs typically shoulder a broad spectrum of responsibilities centered on audit, education, and strategic support. A key duty involves conducting regular compliance surveys and mock inspections at assigned communities to proactively identify risks and ensure readiness for official state surveys. You will analyze clinical data, track performance indicators, and investigate resident or family concerns to identify trends. Collaborating with community Executive Directors and Directors of Health and Wellness, you develop and monitor corrective action plans to address any deficiencies. Furthermore, you play a critical role in interpreting evolving regulations, updating policies, and providing essential in-service training to community staff on topics like risk management, quality improvement, and the survey process. The role also encompasses significant leadership and mentorship components. Regional Directors of Resident Care often participate in the recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of community-level clinical directors. You provide ongoing supervision, clinical expertise, and professional guidance to these managers, fostering their development and ensuring consistent care standards. You may also be involved in clinical reviews of complex resident cases, move-in assessments, and care plan evaluations to support communities with challenging scenarios. Typical requirements for these leadership jobs include an active Registered Nurse (RN) license, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing often mandatory and a Master's degree highly preferred. Candidates generally possess extensive clinical experience, often a decade or more, with a substantial portion in nursing management within senior living, long-term care, or home health. In-depth, current knowledge of state-specific healthcare regulations is non-negotiable. The ideal candidate excels in leadership, communication, and analytical problem-solving, embodying a blend of clinical acumen and operational savvy to drive quality and compliance across multiple locations. If you are a nurse leader passionate about systemic improvement and mentoring teams to deliver exceptional resident-centered care, exploring Regional Director of Resident Care jobs could be your next career advancement.
