Looking for Head of Product Engagement jobs? This senior leadership role sits at the critical intersection of product, marketing, and user experience, focused on maximizing the value users derive from a product. Professionals in this position are strategic architects of the user journey, responsible for transforming new sign-ups into active, loyal, and advocating customers. They go beyond initial acquisition to own the entire post-signup experience, ensuring customers not only stay but deeply engage with the product's core features. A Head of Product Engagement typically oversees a cross-functional mission, often leading teams in product marketing, CRM, lifecycle marketing, or growth. Their core responsibility is to develop and execute a comprehensive engagement strategy. This involves mapping the user lifecycle—from onboarding and activation to ongoing engagement, re-engagement, and upsell—and creating personalized, multi-channel communication journeys (like email, in-app messages, and push notifications) to guide users at each stage. They work hand-in-glove with Product, Design, and Data teams to understand user behavior, identify friction points, and uncover opportunities to drive deeper product adoption. Common responsibilities for this role include defining compelling product messaging and storytelling that resonates with different user segments, managing feature launch campaigns to ensure successful adoption, and leveraging behavioral data to segment users for hyper-personalized outreach. They foster a culture of experimentation, constantly A/B testing content, channels, and timing to optimize performance. Crucially, they establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as activation rates, feature adoption, user retention, churn reduction, and Net Promoter Score (NPS). Externally, they often craft narratives around product evolution and customer success. Internally, they act as a central hub, aligning stakeholders across the organization on engagement priorities and metrics, and evangelizing the voice of the user. Typical skills and requirements for Head of Product Engagement jobs include 8+ years of progressive experience in product marketing, CRM, growth, or related fields, often within fast-paced tech, SaaS, or digital consumer companies. A data-driven mindset is non-negotiable, blending analytical prowess with creative storytelling. Expertise in modern CRM platforms and lifecycle marketing methodologies is essential. Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, with experience managing and developing high-performing teams. Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills are vital, as the role requires influencing without direct authority and translating complex product details into clear user benefits. The ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and drive strategy from conception to execution is a hallmark of success in these demanding yet impactful jobs.
