This includes mastering various cooking methods using ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters. Mise en place—the preparation and organization of ingredients before service—is a critical daily task. Demi Chefs are also responsible for monitoring food quality and quantity, ensuring proper portion control, and arranging food garnishes to create visually appealing plates. They maintain food safety logs, manage inventory by pulling items from storage, and ensure their station is clean, organized, and stocked for the relentless pace of service.
