They are also charged with researching and evaluating emerging data technologies, such as data mesh architectures and self-service platforms, to continuously evolve the organization's data strategy in collaboration with enterprise architecture teams. Common responsibilities for individuals in these jobs include building analytics dashboards and developing foundational data science tooling to democratize data access for business users. They proactively identify and resolve complex data challenges, from performance bottlenecks in data processing to optimizing batch orchestration workflows.
