Explore high-impact COO Enterprise Systems Architect and GenAI Director jobs, a unique and senior leadership role at the intersection of enterprise technology strategy, operational transformation, and cutting-edge artificial intelligence. Professionals in this elite position are responsible for designing the overarching architectural vision and technology roadmap for an organization's Chief Operating Office (COO) functions. Their core mission is to standardize, simplify, and scale complex, often fragmented application landscapes to drive significant business value, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure robust control environments. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between high-level business objectives and practical, sustainable technology execution. Typical responsibilities for individuals in these jobs involve defining and governing cohesive front-to-back system architectures that reduce redundancy and manual touchpoints. They develop comprehensive architecture blueprints, detailing current and target states, data flows, and integration contracts. A critical and growing aspect of the role is leading the enterprise adoption of Generative AI (GenAI) solutions, including large language models and agentic workflows, to automate processes and unlock new capabilities. These architects partner closely with both business and technology stakeholders to enforce architectural principles, promote the reuse of shared components, and drive simplification initiatives that eliminate technical debt. They also often lead architecture governance boards, evaluate emerging technologies like low-code platforms, and build and mentor teams of solution engineers and AI specialists. The typical skill set and requirements for these leadership jobs are extensive. Candidates generally possess 15+ years of progressive experience in technology, with a substantial portion within financial services or other highly regulated, complex industries. A deep understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks, cloud-native design (microservices, APIs, event-driven systems), and modern DevOps practices is essential. Crucially, they must have a strong grasp of banking systems, data platforms, and relevant regulatory landscapes. For the GenAI dimension, knowledge of language models, transformer architectures, vector databases, and AI agent frameworks is increasingly mandatory. Strategic vision, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a proven track record in leading large-scale transformation and simplification programs are fundamental. A bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is typically required, alongside outstanding leadership and stakeholder management skills. This profession is ideal for visionary technologists who excel at translating business challenges into future-ready, intelligent architectural solutions.
