Financial Controllers are the stewards of a company's financial health. Typically found within corporate finance departments, these professionals are responsible for the integrity of all accounting and financial reporting. Their day-to-day duties involve managing the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring all financial statements are accurate and compliant with relevant accounting standards (like GAAP or IFRS). They lead the budgeting and forecasting cycles, providing critical data that guides executive decision-making. Stationed in an Operations Control Centre (OCC), their primary mission is to ensure the safe, efficient, and on-time execution of the operational plan. This involves continuously monitoring live operations—tracking aircraft locations, crew status, and weather patterns—and making swift, critical decisions to manage disruptions.
