The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for a Structural and System Design Professional to join our Airframe Structure team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada), where you will work with a multifunctional team including Chief Engineering, Programs, Methods, Production, Customer Service, Quality, etc. You will be part of the Fuselage Design team responsible for advanced structure and system interface definition and design, leading engineering development through technical innovation and cross-functional collaboration. Your role as a Structural and System Design Professional will be to contribute to engineering projects through in-depth technical expertise in aircraft airframe design and system integration, ensure adherence to deadlines, budget, and quality in a complex and multidisciplinary environment focused on forward-looking product development.
Responsabilités
Define and perform the design, development, qualification, and certification efforts for new airframe structures and system installations for future A220 derivatives or major program enhancements
Contribute to major engineering development projects, delivering results within defined time, budget and quality standards
Drive technical definition and trade-off studies for structural and system solutions to meet ambitious performance targets
Define and execute cutting-edge technical solutions to resolve development issues
Participate in design reviews with system suppliers and certification authorities to meet new aircraft design requirements and objectives
Liaise with other commercial aircraft program functions and disciplines to provide and collect required data to advance initial design, development and certification efforts
Collaborate with other departments such as production, customer support, program office, procurement and product planning
Define, generate and maintain structural analysis reports, interface control documents, and high-quality system installation CAD models
Exigences
Formal education (University degree or technologist level) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
A minimum of 10 years of progressive, relevant experience in aerospace design, specializing in complex airframe structures and system integration within a development program environment
Deep knowledge of aircraft structures and their interfaces with integrated systems, covering: Detail design (sheet metal, machined parts, piping, component assembly)
Design principles
Design for Manufacturing, Assembly, and Serviceability
Mechanical drafting procedures and standards
Expert-level proficiency in CATIA V5 and product lifecycle management tools (e.g., ENOVIA)
Autonomous and strong understanding of project management principles and drivers
Proven ability to effectively coordinate and integrate design activities across diverse internal and external stakeholders (suppliers, production, etc.)
A high sense of commitment, willingness to accept responsibilities, and the ability to act independently and collaborate effectively with partners and suppliers
Curious, highly energetic, and strongly oriented towards continuous improvement and process digitalization
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for meeting desired results in a high-pressure, multidisciplinary working environment
