Leads day-to-day Project Controls activities and ensures consistent application of best practices across planning, scheduling, engineering cost control, earned value / progress measurement, forecasting, procurement coordination, and document control. This is a hands-on leadership role within a project-based engineering environment, requiring both technical depth and people leadership capability. The role supports project managers, discipline leads, and senior leadership by providing accurate, timely, and transparent project performance information to enable effective decision-making and reporting.
Responsabilités
Lead, coordinate, and develop a multidisciplinary Project Controls team (planning, scheduling, cost control, earned value validation, procurement support, document control, and administrative support)
Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance management to build a high-performing, engaged project controls organization
Review, coordinate, and improve: existing roles, responsibilities, and interfaces between project controls, project management, engineering, procurement, and construction management teams
Establish and maintain integrated project schedules covering engineering, procurement, and construction phases
Ensure schedules are logic-driven, resource-loaded where appropriate, and aligned with contractual and commercial requirements
Support schedule risk analysis, critical path analysis, scenario planning, and recovery strategies
Interface with engineering team on estimated engineering project budgets, including engineering hours, procurement
Ensure consistent, accurate, and timely reporting of project performance internally to project teams and company senior management
Active collaboration with Project managers during monthly progress reporting
Support change management including identification, evaluation, and tracking of scope changes
Develop and maintain project progress measurement systems, including engineering progress curves (S-curves) and manpower curves
Ensure consistent, accurate, and timely reporting of project KPIs withing client project monthly reports
Provide analysis and insight into variances, trends, and emerging risks
Generate and present procurement status report
Project cost control and cash flow
Support preparation of procurement and construction bid packages including scope definitions, construction work breakdown structure (WBS), pricing structures, and comparison of tender templates
Coordinate and support bid evaluations and tender comparisons where required
Coordinate and track vendor documentation including expediting of engineering deliverables
Ensure effective project setup at initiation including alignment with ERP and project management systems
Define, maintain, and improve project controls standards, tools, and procedures
Ensure document control processes comply with internal and client requirements
Represent the Project Controls function in project-specific meetings and internal management forums
Act as a trusted advisor to Project Managers and senior leaders on schedule, cost, risk, and performance matters
Collaborate closely with procurement, engineering, construction management, and finance functions
Exigences
8-12+ years of experience in project controls, planning & scheduling, cost control, and/or project management within engineering, EPC, EPCM, or industrial project environments
Demonstrated experience leading and developing project controls teams
Strong understanding of engineering-driven projects, procurement processes, and construction execution
Good commercial and financial understanding with the ability to summarize project data into clear, actionable recommendations for project teams
Experience with project management and ERP systems (ERP knowledge considered a strong asset)
Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Fluency in both French and English (spoken and written) is essential
Structured, analytical, and detail-oriented with strong professional judgment
Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence across disciplines
Comfortable operating in dynamic, multi-project environments
Proactive, solution-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement
