The 2.5-year apprenticeship as a train traffic controller involves working in a control center ("Stellwerk") to monitor and coordinate train movements. The role includes operating signals and switches, ensuring safe and punctual train operations, and maintaining communication with locomotive drivers and team members. The apprenticeship includes both practical training in a control center and theoretical education at a vocational school in Hagen.

Verantwortlichkeiten:

Coordinate trains from a control center
Monitor and influence train movements via screens, buttons, and levers
Change signals and switches to ensure safe and timely train operations
Maintain constant communication with locomotive drivers and team members

Anforderungen:

Successful completion of school with a recognized German school diploma
Ability to remain calm and maintain an overview in demanding situations
Willingness to take responsibility and work concentrated
Teamwork and reliability
Willingness to work in shifts
