Jobbeschreibung:

The position involves a 3-year apprenticeship to become a Zugverkehrssteuerer (Train Traffic Controller) starting September 1, 2026. The training includes operating signal boxes to manage train routes, interacting with train drivers and control centers, and ensuring safe and punctual passenger service. You will work mostly on-site in Limburg an der Lahn and complete seminars and school sessions in Frankfurt am Main. Practical and theoretical education are combined, with work in shifts later during the apprenticeship.

Verantwortlichkeiten:

You will learn how to operate the technology in a signal box step by step from your colleagues
You will learn when to press the right buttons and switches to, for example, change signals or switches for track changes
You will often stay in contact with other colleagues in train traffic management, in the control centers, and with train drivers
You will play an important role in ensuring safe and punctual journeys for our passengers
Together with other trainees, you will work at various locations including Limburg an der Lahn for practical deployments, vocational school, and seminars in Frankfurt am Main

Anforderungen:

You have successfully graduated from school or are about to graduate, and your diploma is recognized in Germany
Your German language skills correspond to at least B2 language level
You remain calm and maintain an overview, even in challenging situations
You like taking responsibility and working with concentration
You are characterized by teamwork and reliability
You are willing to work in shifts
