Drive and implement commodity strategies across the organization. Lead sourcing teams in making decisions necessary to purchase products and/or services in accordance with organizational objectives and sourcing strategies. Develop and maintain a qualified supply base, while understanding technological trends and market influences. Maintain overall business ownership of specific commodities to include managing, facilitating, and monitoring communications with suppliers and business units.

Drive and implement commodity strategies across the organization
Lead sourcing teams in making decisions necessary to purchase products and/or services in accordance with organizational objectives and sourcing strategies
Develop and maintain a qualified supply base, while understanding technological trends and market influences
Maintain overall business ownership of specific commodities to include managing, facilitating, and monitoring communications with suppliers and business units
Initiate, develop and lead sourcing strategies for high spend and critical commodities and identify cost saving potentials
Lead the procurement process and negotiations, from tendering to contracting
Lead sourcing projects to meet internal customers’ requirements and to achieve the optimal benefits for the company
Supplier selection and performance management through cost and value analysis
Design, promote, and implement supplier management strategies, directions and plans
Conduct assessment of supplier performance against agreed KPI
Manage and drive initiatives to promote supplier innovation and process improvements
Identify and develop new suppliers and implement supplier management strategies
Ensure MP supplier minimum requirements are adhered
Ensure Mercedes-Benz standards on compliance, integrity and sustainability are adhered to
Negotiate and execute Long-Term Agreements and/or Full-Service Supplier Contracts, where appropriate, for assigned commodities
Interface between suppliers and appropriate internal departments such as business units, Legal, Accounting, Controlling, Tax
Periodically review and ensure validity of all Purchase Contracts
Engage business units early enough to ensure proper planning can be done for the annual purchases
Engage business units to come up with a join decision on selection of suppliers for the respective buys
Ensure all sourcing arrangements are fully compliant to the existing policy, process instruction and the relevant guidelines
Ensure that all compliant requirements are met in areas of Supplier Due Diligence, Financial Risk Management
Maintenance and implementation of internal control of ICS
Use MP NPM & Services strategic sourcing tools to proactively conduct spend analysis, maintain cost models and metrics by supplier and commodity, and communicate overall supplier performance, trends in technologies, and market conditions with respect to assigned commodities
Develop process improvement initiatives and execution plan
MP NPM & Services capacity planning and savings achievement
Managing team members to achieve departmental targets
Lead, support and develop team members through coaching and fostering strong communication to ensure motivational level is always maintained

Anforderungen

Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business administration, engineering or related discipline
At least 5-7years experience in procurement/supply chain environment with good knowledge of automotive business and supplier base
Comprehensive understanding of procurement principles, procedures and processes
Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skill in English
Ability to communicate complex concepts to all levels of the organization
Strong analytical, decision-making skills
Strong negotiation skills and contract management knowledge
Ability to work cross-functionally across multiple business areas, including in-depth knowledge in category strategy development and implementation
Sound understanding of market conditions, dynamics and economic environment with strong business acumen
Proactive, accountable, organized, detail oriented, self-driven and a good team player
Computer Literacy e.g. MS office and other applications
Ability to work under pressure and prioritize urgent tasks, with good time management skills

Wünschenswert

Knowledge of Logistics Commodity sourcing related to 3PL Warehouse Operations & Transportation will be an added advantage
Having knowledge of SAP or order management system is a plus
Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and Strategic Sourcing Methodology is a plus
