As a Junior Solution Engineer Automation, you will work in innovative, interdisciplinary teams on the development and operation of automation applications in strip steel production and logistics. After a thorough introduction to our applications and domain knowledge, you will focus, based on your personal strengths and experiences, on potential areas of application in the domain of 'Business Solutions Coil', particularly on level-2 automation and warehouse management systems.

Verantwortlichkeiten:

Implementing, testing and commissioning software modules
adapting, further developing and optimizing applications within the framework of life-cycle management
advising, conceptualizing and specifying IT solutions for department-specific tasks (hardware and software)
handling, leading and supporting automation projects as well as preparing tenders
analyzing problems, evaluating data and creating innovation concepts
system support, communicating with operations and third-level support
knowledge management and documentation

Anforderungen:

A technical education in the field of computer science, automation technology, mechatronics, physics, electrical engineering, mathematics or similar
good programming knowledge in object-oriented programming languages
good general and technical understanding as well as interest and enjoyment in solving physical-technical problems
experience in modern software architecture and workflows in the software development process (DevOps)
knowledge in database application programming with SQL (Oracle) and module development with scripting languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB)
a high degree of team spirit as well as communication and social skills in dealing with people
interest and joy in solving challenging physical-technical problems as well as enthusiasm for innovation and digital solutions
good German and English skills in spoken and written form
