The apprenticeship as a Gleisbauer:in (track builder) involves working outdoors on construction sites, laying new rails, checking for damages, and ensuring safe train travel. The training lasts three years, with the first year spent daily in Hamburg at the training workshop or vocational school.

Verantwortlichkeiten:

Work with the team on construction sites
lay new rails and switches
check for damages and replace broken parts
renew ballast under the rails with modern machines
ensure correct measurements for safe train travel

Anforderungen:

School completion with a recognized diploma in Germany
German language proficiency at least B2 level
willingness to work outdoors
motivation and reliability
enjoyment of teamwork
readiness for different work locations, shifts, and night shifts
