Regional Grants and Reporting Advisor

• Ensure high-quality, impact-focused donor reporting by reviewing and providing feedback to country teams
• Enhance the reporting capacity of project teams to meet donor requirements and showcase impact
• Ensure compliance with donor requirements and PIN’s internal quality standards in financial and narrative reporting
• Support (post-implementation) learning and use insights to enhance project design and future positioning
• Promote knowledge sharing and best practices within and across PIN country programmes to enhance programme impact and innovation
• Facilitate the documentation of key project achievements, lessons learned, and best practices to enhance PIN’s track record
• Train and mentor programme and partner staff in project design, development, and quality assurance
• Identify high-potential staff for coaching, mentoring, and international exposure
• Supervise interns/trainees, providing structured capacity development and performance evaluation
• Support CP teams with strategic partnership building including identifying relevant partners for anticipated funding opportunities and facilitating partnership assessments
• Collaborate with HQ Program teams Assist country teams in donor relationship development and management
• Contribute to visibility and communications efforts at the regional level
• Explore regional and cross-border programme opportunities with CDs and Africa management
• Pre-Proposal Phase Support: Provide technical assistance to CP teams in assessments, consultations, and proposal design, collaborate with country program staff so that we’re ready to develop evidence-based proposals that integrate regional and global trends
• Provide strategic guidance on project proposal development, aligning with country strategies and fundraising priorities
• Lead, write or support (depending on agreement) proposal development, ensuring quality, strategic alignment, and timely submission
• Ensure new projects are built on strong context analysis, meet community needs and priorities, and are evidence-based (collaborating with HoP and MEAL teams), ensuring its aligned with donor requirements
• Upload and submit internally approved proposals on donor platforms, ensuring compliance with submission requirements
• Facilitate HQ-to-HQ communication with donors preferring centralized contact, including identifying and sharing new funding opportunities (e.g., private foundations)
• Track and analyze selected donor trends, strategies, and funding opportunities relevant to African CP(s) with focus on development donors and climate finance mechanisms
• Actively contribute to donor mapping efforts, ensuring CPs have updated intelligence on key donors relevant to their contexts
• Support donor and partner positioning at both HQ and CP levels by collaborating with relevant departments (KLD, CAD, etc.) to draft positioning briefs, capability statements, and advocacy messaging
• Lead or coordinate the development of positioning materials, ensuring alignment across briefs, donor engagement materials, and capability statements to maintain consistency and strategic focus
• Support CPs in understanding how donor strategies align with their programmatic priorities and strategies
• Support development of donor engagement strategies tailored to specific funding landscapes and priorities
• Represent PIN in relevant working groups, forums, and conferences
• Support programme teams in full understanding of the project background (based on data/information gathered during the project design phase), the project’s Theory of Change and expected outcomes and impact
• Support project inception phase by identifying key risks and mitigation strategies
• Identify and guide strategic elements of implementation that strengthen positioning (e.g., conference participation, studies/analyses conducted as part of programme implementation, advocacy events, etc.)
• Work with finance and operations teams to ensure strong project financial planning

• Grants Acquisition Expertise – Proven ability to secure funding from institutional donors such as EU, FCDO, UN agencies, GCF, and bilateral donors
• Proposal Development Leadership – Strong experience leading the design and writing of high-quality proposals aligned with donor priorities and organizational strategy
• Donor Engagement & Relationship Building – Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with donors, partners, and internal stakeholders
• Programme Development & Positioning – Experience shaping programmes and positioning them strategically within the donor funding landscape
• Excellent Writing & Analytical Skills – Ability to synthesize complex information into clear proposals, reports, and compelling narratives
• Compliance & Attention to Detail – Strong understanding of donor guidelines, reporting requirements, and contract management
• Collaboration Across Teams – Ability to work effectively with HQ, country offices, partners, and national staff in inclusive and respectful ways
• Strategic Thinking & Donor Intelligence – Understanding donor trends and funding opportunities to guide programme development and partnerships
• Adaptability & Resilience, curiosity and proactive learning– Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing donor priorities
• Relevant International NGO Experience – Background in humanitarian or development contexts (preferably Africa), experience in regional or cross-border programming is a plus
• Proficiency in English (French or Portuguese is a plus)
• Willingness to travel internationally, including to field locations
